Capital One business checking: Basic vs Enhanced vs Premier

Capital One publishes its wire fees on the account page, which most big banks do not. That makes it easy to work out which of its three business checking accounts is cheapest for the way your company moves money.

A Rivet note listing Capital One business checking wire fees by tier beside the US flag.

Most large US banks put wire pricing in a fee schedule PDF. Capital One prints it in a table on the business checking page, next to the monthly fees. That table answers the question most owners searching "Capital One business checking" have: which of the three tiers is cheapest for me.

Figures below were read on Capital One's page on 8 November 2026.

The three tiers

*Only for wires processed through the Treasury Management Intellix platform. Wires sent or received through online banking, a branch, the call center or email are charged at standard pricing.

Cash deposits at Capital One branches and select Allpoint ATMs are free on every tier. Enhanced is meant for businesses depositing under $40,000 in cash a month; Capital One may move an account that goes over to a different product.

Working out your tier

Take a company with a $10,000 average balance that sends 6 domestic wires and receives 3 international wires a month.

  • Basic: fee waived. 6 × $25 + 3 × $15 = $195 a month in wires.
  • Enhanced: $35 fee, since the balance is under $25,000. 1 paid domestic wire at $25 plus 3 × $15 = $70, so $105 in total.

Enhanced wins by $90 a month for that company. Now switch the pattern to 1 domestic wire out and 4 international wires out a month, the shape of a company paying overseas contractors:

  • Basic: $25 + 4 × $40 = $185.
  • Enhanced: $35 fee + $0 + 4 × $40 = $195.

Basic wins, because Enhanced gives nothing back on international wires. Premier only changes the picture if you hold close to $100,000 or will pay $99 a month and run wires through Intellix.

What the wire fee leaves out

The $15 or $40 is Capital One's charge. An international wire can also lose money to intermediary banks along the route and to the exchange rate if it is converted. A client in Germany paying a $5,000 invoice may see their bank convert euros to dollars at its own rate before sending. Our guide to international wire transfer fees for US businesses breaks each cost down.

Receiving from abroad without a wire

For a US company with clients in Europe or the UK, the incoming international wire fee is avoidable. Rivet gives your company USD details on the free Starter plan and EUR and GBP details on Growth. A client in Germany pays your euro IBAN by SEPA, a UK client pays your GBP details by Faster Payments, and you convert when you choose, with FX from 0.50% shown before you confirm. When you need the dollars at Capital One, send them to your account there. Payouts to contractors abroad go out on local rails in 120+ countries.

Rivet does not take cash or checks and is not a bank; regulated partner institutions hold client funds. Keep Capital One for the branch side of the business. See ACH vs wire transfer and Accounts.
