Wise's business price list is public: from 0.24% to convert, nothing a month, £50 once for account details in the UK. Ebury's is not. Its site lists 160+ countries to send to, 140+ currencies, 30+ regulated markets and 50+ offices, and asks you to get in touch for pricing.
That tells you who each one is for. Wise sells a low, visible price to anyone. Ebury sells a relationship: a dealer, forward contracts, options and trade finance for companies whose currency risk is large enough to manage.
Information is from each provider's site, read in November 2026.

Pick Ebury if
You import or export, pay large supplier invoices on a schedule and a 5% currency move would hurt your margin. A forward contract fixes the rate, and Ebury's financing can bridge the gap between paying a supplier and getting paid. Our guide to FX forward contracts explains the mechanics.
Pick Wise if
Your transfers are smaller and frequent, you want the price before you ask, and you do not need credit.
When neither fits
Some companies sit between the two: they are paid in dollars by clients, pay staff and contractors across many countries, and use USDC or USDT with some counterparties. Ebury's strength is hedging, and Wise has no stablecoins. Rivet gives a registered company USD account details in its own name on the free Starter plan, EUR and GBP details on Growth, and USDC and USDT on every plan. Payouts reach 120+ countries for $2, $1 or $0.50 each, depending on plan.
Rivet does not offer forwards, so a company with real currency risk on large future payments should keep a hedging provider. See OFX alternatives for others in that group. Rivet is not a bank; regulated partner institutions hold client funds.
Questions people ask
Is Ebury more expensive than Wise?
Ebury does not publish its margins, so compare a live quote for the same amount on the same day. For small transfers Wise's published fee from 0.24% is hard to beat. On large, hedged payments, the value of a forward contract can outweigh a difference in margin.
Does Wise offer hedging?
Wise does not offer forward contracts or options to businesses. Ebury, OFX, Corpay and WorldFirst offer ways to fix a future rate.
Who is Ebury for?
Ebury describes itself as serving growing businesses, enterprises and institutions, with hedging, financing and multilingual support from 50+ offices.
