Google suggests "best multi currency account" with "uk", "singapore" and "australia" before the US, partly because US companies discover the need later. It usually arrives with the first European customer or the first contractor in Latin America. Prices below were read on each US pricing page between 1 and 4 November 2026.
Four pricing models
| Plan fee | FX | Local details | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wise Business | $31 once | From 0.23%, by currency | 22 currencies |
| Revolut Business | $10 to $140 a month | Interbank up to $1,000 to $80,000, then 0.6% | Several, by plan |
| Airwallex | $0 Explore; Grow $12 per user plus platform fee | 0.5% majors, 1% others | Many currencies |
| Rivet | $0 Starter; $200 Growth; $500 Scale | From 0.80%, 0.50%, 0.30% | USD on Starter; EUR and GBP on Growth; 25 more on Scale |
What to compare besides FX
- Local details in your company's name. A euro IBAN lets EU clients pay by SEPA. Holding euros without details means they still send a wire.
- Payout reach and fee. Paying 20 contractors a month at $5 each is $100.
- Team controls. Cards per person, limits and approvals matter once more than two people spend.
- Per-user pricing. It looks small and grows with every cardholder.
A monthly example
A US agency receives $30,000 in euros and pays $25,000 to contractors in Europe and Latin America.
- If it holds euros, it pays most European contractors from the euro balance with no conversion.
- It converts only the Latin American share and the surplus.
On a 0.5% margin, converting $10,000 instead of $55,000 saves about $225 a month.

Questions people ask
What is a multi-currency business account?
An account that holds balances in several currencies and gives the company local details to receive them, such as a euro IBAN or a UK sort code, so customers pay domestically.
Which multi-currency account is cheapest?
It depends on volume. Wise is cheapest per conversion on major pairs at low volume. Revolut can be cheapest if your conversion fits its allowance. Airwallex and Rivet suit teams that also need cards and payouts at scale.
Do US banks offer multi-currency accounts?
Some large banks offer foreign currency accounts, often with minimum balances and relationship requirements. Fintech accounts are usually easier to open for small companies.
Is my money safe in a multi-currency account?
Check who holds the funds. Fintech providers use regulated partner institutions; ask whether funds are safeguarded or insured and how.
